Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer that is well known by her outstanding performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes such as The Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The accomplished actress started her acting career on stage with an array of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. From the time she was a child she's always been very passionate about performing. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. After suffering from the Mumps, she went deaf on the one side of her ear. But, it didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to work as an actress. She studied drama at college in Pittsburgh, then relocated away from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dreams. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the two collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. When she moved from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. An supporting role was secured in Swing Shift. In the last three decades she's appeared in numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrity and has won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
